The White mare
Country House Hotel

Phil Ward AKA (Arkwright) from The White Mare is bringing early Christmas cheer to the good folk of Beckermet with the opening of The White Mare Inn Store.
It's a well known fact that village life has changed dramatically over the years with the loss of post offices and the loss of village shops many villagers have found life more difficult.
Arkwright, sorry, Phil says: "The residents are really pleased with the timing of the opening especially as winter falls upon us. Many of the village elders are over the moon as they can get their essentials on their doorstep. What's more important is all of the goods on offer are sourced locally."
So why open a shop? There aren't that many potential customers are there?
"We are proud that we are seen as the hub of the community and the opening of our village store reiterates the point," says Phil. "We are not just a great local pub, we are the service provider for all, we are already the parcel pick-up point for the village and we are linked to useyourlocal.com.
We are also launching a loyalty scheme where every £10 spent in the store means 10p will be redeemable for food and drink at The Whitemare."
So gents, you have a great excuse to go to the pub. I can almost hear the words in many a Beckermet household: "Right love, I'm going for a Pint, a pint of milk of course!"
Either way the residents are delighted at the opening of The Whitemare Inn Village Store where you can pick up milk - bread - eggs - bacon - sausages - pies - ice cream - dvd hire - stamps - dry cleaning - fruit and veg - flowers and more.
