Surprise Contribution for the Cumbria Flood Relief Fund
from Julia Bradbury
Julia Bradbury was guest of honour when Honister hosted their fabulous "Dine in the Mine" experience at the top of Fleetwith Pike.
Julia commented "I give Honister 10 out of 10 for Dine in the Mine. It was a totally unique achievement and a fantastic night for everyone".
"The musicians, caterers, miners and support staff were absolutely amazing, a great tribute to all involved"
Julia hasn't forgotten the flood victims and the devastation caused in and around The Lake District, her spiritual home.
She recently generated just over £1000.00 which will be handed over to Linda Furniss of Keswick Tourism Association and Graham & Carole Thompson of the Keswick Flood Action Group.
Graham & Carole presented a copy of "Weathering the Storm" inscribed with a message to Julia Bradbury in recognition of here amazing support.
Weathering the Storm is a book produced by Keswick Flood Action Group recording stories and photographs from the November floods. An exhibition of these is currently running in the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick.
As Julia has a full commitment of filming, particularly "Secret Britain" which featured The Lake District, she has arranged for not one, nor two but five Julia Bradbury's, her infamous supporters of whom she is honorary patron, to hand over the cheque on Friday 3rd September at Honister Slate Mine .
